How to check the latest SDK version for updating the build.gradle(Module: app) file in Android Studio?

Here are the instructions, if you need to update the build.gradle(Module: app) file to the latest SDK version.

  1. Open SDK Manager (Click Android Studio SDK Manager Toolbar Button or Tools -> Android -> SDK Manager)
  2. Choose the SDK Tools Tab
    1. Check the Show Package Details Checkbox
    2. Use the highest installed version

      Here the 25.0.2 checkbox is ticked, therefore this is the highest version.

Update the build.gradle(Module: app) file, in particular the value for the key buildToolsVersion.
